Hollywood & Beverly Hills

Next up: Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
As it turned out, the 3 nights we spent in Hollywood we actually stayed with two film producers! How cool. But, funnily enough, they actually had food poisoning and we only spoke to them once when we arrived. Still cool though!
Hollywood was your run of the mill tourist activities; spend a day at Universal studios, walk down the Hollywood walk of fame with your head down starring at the stars bumping into people, and while not typically what you do in Hollywood, but still fitting, see a movie at the Chinese theaters where all the movie premieres are held.
So check out thee pictures below to see what we got up to!

The entrance to Universal Studios.

Ready for the tour around the studios.

Stage 24 where CSI was being filmed during our tour.

Some of the sets that are made to look like New York streets, some scenes from our favourite show How I Met Your Mother are filmed here.

A set where it floods and rains.

The Airplane crash used in the War of the Worlds film.

Universal had a whole Simpsons section which was really cool to see, and ride which was pretty cool.

Moe's Tavern, a Classic.

The lower section of Universal which included Transformers, The Mummy and Jurassic Park which were all awesome rides.

A view of the studios from above.

More studios and sets.

Another amazing Giant Turkey Leg, pretty standard fare when at a theme park.

A shark on Lauren's head.

When we visited Universal they were celebrating Grinchmas, the Grinch tree was pretty cool as you can see.

The Dolby Theater in Hollywood which is where the Academy awards are held. At the time we first went there were showcasing the new movie Saving Mr Banks which is Mary Poppins related, hence the umbrellas.

The Chinese Theater, where we saw Anchorman 2 because it was pouring down.

Turns out Kristian has the same size hands and shoes as Tom Hanks.

We gave birth to this Hollywood star.

The walk of fame.

Hollywood Boulevard.

As most of you know we love some good Hong Kong style food, and yes we managed to hunt down a really good place to eat just near downtown LA. The BBQ pork was so delicious that we had to get two plates.

A trip to a major city wouldn't be complete without a hockey game. Lucky for Kristian his team San Jose Sharks were playing the LA Kings.

LA Kings at the Staples Centre.

The light show at the Staples Centre.

Kristian's sad face because the Sharks were loosing.

Unfortunately for us the Sharks lost.

On Christmas eve we went on the TMZ Hollywood tour which Lauren has wanted to go on forever.

A view down a part of Rodeo Drive.

The Kardashian shop for all you fans out there (Kerryn).

The famed Hollywood sign.

Our tour guide Neesha. Hopefully she'll be on the show one day so we can say we've met her!

I had no idea my Dad was a famous recording artist.

Another shot of the Hollywood sign.

The Bugatti Veyron was parked outside probably the most expensive store in the world. This car was pretty much the mascot of the store, pretty crazy huh? Just to enter the store it was $1500! Plus the cheapest suit was $50,000 which is completely insane.

Strolling down Rodeo Drive with Caitlyn.

A super posh hotel in Beverly Hills where Obama stays when he is in town.

The plaza in the Chinese theaters complex.

Endless stars.

Our last night in LA was spent with Caitlyn at a posh hotel in Beverly Hills and a yummy dinner at a diner in Hollywood.

View of Beverly Hills from our hotel room. This was actually the view from the second room in this hotel we had stayed in, funnily enough the reason we moved was due to a blood splatter on the wall just above the bed. So naturally we asked to move after Lauren and Caitlyn were speculating how, where and when someone was murdered in the room. But we managed to get free breakfast for it so it was worth it. So if anyone reads about someone 'disappearing' in Beverly Hills, let us know.
So that was our time in Hollywood and Beverly Hills, next up, we are heading into Central California for some time in the country with Eric & Dorothy, which we enjoyed profusely. More on that later.

Hope everyone is well, and we will see you all in less than 2 weeks!
Kristian & Lauren.
