New York City, Part 1

Whilst in New York we have taken roughly 1100 photos and we are going back there for two more days on Sunday so we have to do these blog posts in a few parts otherwise you will be spending your whole day looking at photos. Anyway enjoy the following....

Our first night in New York was spent exploring the incredible Times Square. It's very hard to describe New York and especially, but it is simply crazy and a million times better than you think it is.

Brief panorama shot of Times Square. Its way to big to get in one single panorama.

Just a glimpse of a typical New York building.

New York yellow cabs

Closed for renos but still cool to go and see.

I was trying to get a cool shot of the cabs at the traffic lights but this dude completely photo bombed me, but still kind of a cool shot none the less.

The New York public library

A random photoshoot on the steps of the library.

Inside one of the many rooms of the library.
The Empire State Building, which we did go up twice but those photos will come in another post.

Grand Central Station

Chilling in Grand Central Station

Times Square is full of people dressed up as a whole bunch of different cartoon/movie characters and these three literally swarmed around me. Whilst crossing the street Kristian and I got momentarily separated and at that very second the Cookie Monster and Elmo launched! Calling out to Kristian was a big mistake because he could see the terror in my eyes and thought it would be funny to take a photo so I would get harassed for tips... which of course happened.

On our second night in the city we went to the bar where our favourite show How I Met Your Mother was thought up. The bar on the show is also kind of based on this bar.

Kristian's dinner at McGee's.

Pretty self explanatory, we have submitted a request for tickets for Monday nights taping so fingers crossed we get a ticket.

The bar which McLaren's of HIMYM is based on.

Hershey World in Times Square!

The steps we are standing on in this photo and the one above is where Glee filmed a song.

Taking it easy in Times Square.

In New York there is a chain of restaurants called Shake Shack and it is simply amazing. This is my dorky "I'm really excited for Shake Shack" face.

The best burgers you will ever eat! Thank you Shake Shack!

One our second day we went to the top of the Rockefeller Centre. The views from the top were incredible. This one is of Central Park if you couldn't tell.

Top of the Rock.

The Top of the Rock allowed us to see the Empire State as part of the Manhattan skyline, and it was just amazing.

Manhattan skyline.

My damn glasses kept getting all the reflection from the sun so I had to take them off so you could tell that I actually had eyes.

Thanks to watching a million episodes of The Layover/No Reservations Anthony Bourdain mentioned Papaya Dog for good hot dogs.... and ofcourse he was right. Two dogs and a drink for $4.95 and they we delicious.

So that will do for tonight, we will post another blog tomorrow so we can keep you all up to date.

Hope you're all well!

Love
Lauren & Kristian
