New York City, Part 2

As I said in our post yesterday because we have a zillion photos of NY we have had to split the posts up.
If you haven't seen the post from yesterday just keep scrolling down.

Also fun fact for you all, we are in Philadelphia at the moment and today I (Lauren) found out I share a birthday with both Al Capone and Benjamin Franklin, cool huh.

All the photos below were taken from the top of The Empire State Building. The views were just amazing.

The buildings in the distance is the financial district of Manhattan. The biggest building you can see is the Freedom Tower, which is number 7 World Trade Centre. This is the first building of the World Trade Centre that has been rebuilt since 9/11.

The Hudson River with Hoboken New Jersey on the other side of the river. Home of the Cake Boss.

Click on the panorama to view it better.

The Chrysler building which Kristian kept thinking was the Rockefeller Centre.

Sorry for all the skyline pictures, they are just that cool.

During our time in New York we visited Macy's quite a few times. The Macy's in NY is the worlds largest department store being 16 acres big with 8 HUGE floors.

Whilst in NY we bought a NY City Pass that entitled us to much cheaper entry to alot of things. One of the tickets we got was for a cruise half way round Manhattan island. The views were great, and ofcourse we took wayyyyyy to many photos.

The Financial District.
The very grand Statue of Liberty. We went to Liberty Island during our time in NY but those photos will probably be in the next post.

Panorama of Manhattan, including The Brooklyn Bridge.

We finally lashed out and stayed at a nice hotel just a block (a street) away from Times Square. This was our view from our room on our first night at the hotel. The next night we moved to a different room and our view was even better. I will be sure to post some photos.

Pretty much every night we spent in the city we tried to head down to Times Square just to experience the bright lights and chaos.

No matter what time of the day or night there is always a million people in Times Square.

One night we went to Ellen's Stardust Diner as you see above. It is a typical american diner along Broadway but they have singing waiters, who get up on the tables and sing and dance.
Inside the diner, our waiter singing a tune.

Kristian's beef brisket!

For all you movie buffs... Forest Gump's Shrimp company right in Times Square. You can actually eat here too!

The best place you will ever eat! Located conveniently across the road from our hotel.

Our ticket to The Empire State Building included a free night visit, which was a great experience. The city is so beautiful and completely different at night.

View out to New Jersey.

The Financial District.
Times Square if you couldn't tell by the bright lights.

Up the top of the Empire State.

For the Sleepless In Seattle fans (Mum), inside is the elevator seen on the movie and just outside this door is where Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan finally met.

The Empire State Lobby
So for now that's it. We will try and post hopefully our last NY blog tomorrow.
Early tomorrow morning we head back to New York for a couple of nights to see some more bits and pieces, then come back to Phily for another Flyers home game.

Hope you're all well

Lauren & Kristian
